Roland send me his artist booklet on the “ART CARRÉE” project. Looks great and shows interesting variations. Thank you very much!

A MAIL ART PROJECT FOR THE 8TH OF MAY 2010 IN THE TOWN SCHWEINFURT (GERMANY). DIFFERENT SETS OF 9 PHOTOGRAPHS HAVE BEEN SENT OUT TO 14 ARTISTS FOR THEIR INDIVIDUAL MODIFICATIONS. AFTER IT THEY WILL SENT IT BACK TO ME. BOTH, THE PHOTO MOSAIC AS WELL AS THE MODIFICATION WILL BE SHOWN AT THE EXHIBITION. I WILL DOCUMENT IT HERE ON THIS BLOG. IN THE END THERE WILL BE A PLANED ARTISTBOOK ABOUT THE PROJECT.

Today post from Roland “Bismarck” Halbritter reached me. Next to the great decorated envelope

(funny: it seems that the post man couldn’t decide which stamp to stamp - so they didn’t stamp none)

Something that I really like on mail art: It opens the eyes for daily beauty. Like this beautiful beer coaster that Wilma sent me. Seeing it on the counter, under a glas: May be I would not even recognize it. But sending it as a postcard, there is a focus put on this beer coaster. And makes me think on how does Amber, “veritas vincit” and a deer may fit together. It’s a bit duchampic Really great!

Wow, look at this! So beautiful!

Reminds me on the fantastic silhouette artist Lotte Reininger. And I have to ask Wilma how she makes these embossed lines.
